Sold & Purchased with Alex
In August 2015, we decided it was time to sell our downtown Hamilton condo and search for our first house. We began by leisurely looking for houses and were immediately struck by just how important top-notch representation is. Our search for a Real Estate agent began with us asking friends who they had used in the past. To this list, we added a series of agents who stood out due to their competent on-line and physical advertising campaigns. Finally, we had our list of people to meet and we began inviting them out to our home. As most people are, we had been heavily influenced by our friends as to who we should decide and were fairly certain who we would choose before this process began. Alex Borondy was not one of the people suggested to us, but she proceeded to tear-down the existing bias we had going into this process, and emerge as the obvious top-choice. What made Alex stand-out? The list is long, but the key features, to us, were her professionalism, attention to detail and obvious competency. Her extraordinary on-line advertising drew us to her at first, as Alex understands the old adage 'A picture says a thousand words' and is adept at using this premise to drive the sale of your house. Her strategy was critical to the timely sale of our condo, which, surprisingly, was muddied by some complex legal & contractual issues surrounding our building. Alex not only guided us through the sales process, while dealing with these issues, but used her considerable acumen to drive interest in our property. Her willingness to tap-into other professionals allows her to provide you with top-notch photography, a show-stopping video tour and a social media advertising campaign tailor made to sell your home.
Surprisingly, to us, it was during our search for a new home that Alex's real value came to the fore. We simply were not expecting the savvy that Alex brought to the table as a buying agent. She's the complete package as far as a buying agent goes, as she is capable of giving a near home-inspector's worth of information regarding a home's health, strengths and weaknesses. This attention-to-detail is accompanied by keeping a firm hand on the pulse of the real-estate market, as she offers frighteningly accurate predictions as to how much and when a given house will sell. Importantly, her savvy doesn't make her arrogant whatsoever. For example, like seemingly all houses in the Hamilton area, the house we wanted to call "home" went into competition. Alex understood the situation and, like any top-notch, confident professional should, willingly sought advice from other agents who specialized in the area our home-to-be was located within. Through her willingness to consult with others and thorough understanding of the market, we developed a winning offer for the house that is now our home.
If we decide to move in the future, we will absolutely work with Alex again. She is competent, prepared, successful, and her complete lack of arrogance despite this, makes her a joy to work with. The scalding hot nature of the Hamilton market gives rise to many 'mega-agents' whom you meet once, before being pawned off to one of their associates. Working with Alex is refreshing, as this simply doesn't happen. She works with your case personally and somehow makes time for everyone despite her busy schedule. Do yourself a favour and give Alex a chance to work for you. We opened the door a crack, and she blew it off the hinges.
