We’ve been seeing significant price levelling in many cities for some time,

I am now seeing an upward trend in benchmark pricing for all Single Family 1-Storey, 2-Storey and Townhomes in Burlington and Hamilton.

From December to January in Burlington we are seeing increases of 2.9% 1-Storey, 0.5% 2-Storey and 1.7% Townhomes

Hamilton I’m finding increases of 0.5% 1-Storey, 1.9% 2-Storey and 0.3% Townhomes.

Right now in Burlington we only have 2.6 months of supply and in Hamilton only 2.7 months of supply.

Competition is picking up again as we’ve already seen multiple offers on properties and as more buyers regain confidence and try to grab the low-priced, low inventory that’s out there we are going to see more multiple-offer situations. That means it’s also a great time to get your home listed if you want to make a move upsizing into your next dream home or downsize to the right size of home for your changing lifestyle.

For those that have been waiting to get in the market or regretted missing the market before, right now is the chance you’ve been waiting for.

On January 25th the BoC announced a quarter point increase to the overnight lending rate and the Governing Council expects to hold the policy rate at its current level while it assesses the impact of the cumulative interest rate increases. Next announcement is March 8th.
